The Queen's Walk
Day one 03/05/17, London
today i woke up at 6 a.m. on Sunday morning! that’s crazy! I finished packing my suitcases and i reached the bus that drove my class and me to the airport in Bergamo. The flight was at 11.35 and at about 4 p.m we landed in Stansted. Another bus drove us at the meeting point in Bromley. My roommate Vittoria and i met Lisa, our mummy. For dinner we had potatoes and beans. Now it’s 10 o’clock p.m. and i’m so tired
Thought: i loved the view of the countryside from the airplane.
Day two 03/06/17, London
today we went to the Oxford International, our new school. We have done an activity in Greenwich park, a photography game and it was quite funny. Then we visited the Royal Observatory, here there is the Greenwich mean time. After we went to the Queen’s house and i loved it, it’s a beautiful classic royal residence of the 17th century. After we visited “discover Greenwich”, that is a museum about Greenwich history
thought: i loved the blue colour of Queen’s house walls, in a room full of paintings.
Day three 03/07/17, London
today we visited London London! At school they split us in two groups, in my group Robert, our teacher, spoke about journalism and after we spoke about italian journalism and done dialogues. In the afternoon we saw the London Eye, the Big Ben, Westminster abbey, Parliament square, St James’ Park, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar square and the National Gallery, that has been my favourite museum, because i love art and i saw some impressionism paintings. This has been my favourite day because we visited the most important buildings in London
Thought: the black swan in St James’ Park impressed me a lot.
Day four 03/08/17, London
after school we walked though Canary Wharf, that is the busisness district in London, with huge skyscrapers. After we could choose which museum to visit and i chose Victoria and Albert museum, that is about clothes, jewelry and shiny things! After we visited Harrods, but just for an half an hour, but i managed to buy some presents for my family. We walked through Carnaby Street and China Town
Thought: the white and gold room in V&A museum impressed me a lot, there were gold mirrors with decorations.
Day five 03/09/17, London
today we went to school as other mornings and in the afternoon we have done the Queen’s walk (in South Bank) and we visited Tate Modern museum. I liked it, but i think i’m too young to understand modern art. We stayed out for dinner in Leicester square. Today we walked a lot, about 14 km and i’m so tired!
thought: one of the paintings bye Picassso impressed me for its weirdness and bright colours.
Day six 03/10/17, London
this was the last day of school. I will miss Plumtree’s teas in the morning. Today we visited the British museum and i liked Parthenon’s area because we studied it and i was proud of myself because i could describe some parts of it! After we went to Covent Garden and i bought some presents for my family and me
Thought: in Covent Garden there were black telephone boxes and they were different from the others, that are red.
Day seven 03/11/17
this was the last day, i’m quite sad. Today we visited Shakespeare’s Globe theatre that is very small, because it’s a replica of the one who burnt in 1666. After we saw the Tower Bridge and St Paul’s Cathedral, we arrived at Stansted airport by bus and at about 6 p.m. we had our flight
Thought: again, i loved the view from the airplane, this time there was an amazing sunset.
